Never stop working on yourself

Never stop working on yourself

Never stop working on yourself.

Physically, mentally, spiritually.

I know personally the past year has been a year of tremendous growth!

I’ve faced obstacles that no one should have to battle, but those obstacles have become easier by growing closer to God.

Every day I choose to focus on the things I am grateful for and what ways can I grow.

So, set those goals, surround yourself with positivity, seek out new experiences and challenges, and don’t forget to celebrate along the way!

My head isn’t really in it (this blog) this week.

Because life.

Because I’m a full time working mom with a baby that still gets up every 2 hours at night.

I’m tired, I’m spread thin, and I’m just barely making it.

Laundry needs to be put away, dishes done, toys picked up, etc etc etc. The list of things to do is always there, it’s just a bit longer than usual right now.

I’m currently writing this while nursing my daughter. There’s always something to do. So this page has to go to the back burner. I have tiny humans who need me. A husband who needs me present. A God that needs me to study his word and spread the Good News to the world. Can there be more hours in the day???

If you are feeling overwhelmed and have 649372939 things you need to do.. you are not alone. and I’m here to tell you it’s okay! It won’t always feel like this. YOU GOT THIS.

Side note; the podcast I follow and listen to regularly posted this and I just listened to it. And HOW fitting is it?? Give yourself grace. I want y’all to listen to it if you are struggling with anything right now.

In other news, I’m going to be starting this awesome exercise and meal program next week (hopefully). Its included free with the company I get my health supplements from so I am excited about all the perks with no extra cost. That definitely takes a weight off of me. Cause who can really afford anything extra these days.

I think I’m done with my rant.. for now!

Anyone interested in doing this 12 week workout plan with me? It’s always easier (and funner) when you have an accountability partner.

Love you guys, thanks for sticking with me. Next posts will be better I promise!

Leave the dishes.

Leave the dishes.

It can be so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of every day life. The wake up, work, come home, dinner, prepare for the next day, sleep, repeat. It gets monotonous and repetitive. Where’s the fun? It’s important to find the joy in each day.

We are not put on this beautiful earth to just do chores every day. Do we all aspire to have a clean, organized space? Of course. Is there constant flow of dirty clothes, dishes, and trash? Yep.

BUT we need to take the take to enjoy life. When your kid(s) ask to play with you, I hope you say yes more than you say no.

Leave the dishes. Play superhero’s, or princesses. Go outside and explore, play in the dirt. Make your kids smile and laugh and show them the good parts of life.

Leave the dishes. Go on a date with your significant other, or go shopping with a good friend. Take the time to let go and remember the good.

Having a clean living space makes my brain happy, don’t get me wrong! And who knows, I might be the only person that has a hard time letting go of the cleaning sometimes and just relax and enjoy friends and family. If not, I’m here to tell you you are NOT alone.

“Always be joyful.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Notice it says “always be joyful” not always be cleaning or always stress about chores.

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I hope y’all have a great day, and leave the dishes.

Hope Always. Wait what??

Hope Always. Wait what??

When I was 16 I was dying to get a tattoo. I made up a rule for myself: Pick a tattoo and if I still want it six months down the road then I’ll get it. So that’s what I did.

What did I get? A Bible verse. I thought it was a good, safe choice. I grew up Christian, love God, and my mom probably wouldn’t mind signing off on something like that versus a playboy bunny or the like.

“But I will keep on hoping for your help; I will praise you more and more.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭71:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Hope Always. Psalms 71:14” cute right? Inspirational even.

Fast forward 11 years. I still love my tattoo. The difference is it has more meaning to me now.

When I got the tattoo at 16, I was not going to church, not reading my Bible, and not doing anything to strengthen my faith. I guess you could say I had strayed away from the right path. It almost feels like I was a fraud.

In the past year, I have rejoined the path for Jesus. I am baptized, plugged into a local church, and living my life for God.

Every day I am thankful that I was brought back to live a life honoring God every day. So it only made sense to dig into this verse that I got inked to really understand it.

I encourage you to read Psalms chapters 71. It has some great stuff in it.

God doesn’t hold grudges. He loves all of us endlessly.
